Cumulative Game

Out of thin air this noun "flash forward" in my mind after reading an article a few days ago, a cumulative game means that there exist lots of round in a game which consequences is accumulated and bring forward to the next game, so every player starts in a different situation. The winner of the previous round will keep abusing the advantage of previous round, and keep utilize it to win this round. In Hong Kong terms, we already know that in a similar way named 屈機, which achieve the same aim in a slight different way.

I wish I can read this article earlier, then I can understand the broader impact of one's decision.
then at least I can do smarter decision, or at least think twice before doing "not so smart" moves.
I wish I can study language better,
I hope I can take care more about my health and my feeling,
I fancy I can pick up a sports/ hobby and master it...
These can change the whole game, place me in a better position and have a favorable outcome.

But, I still hold the believe of the end of darkness is sunniness (Otherwise there will not be a nickname of DarkSunny) . That's why even you are putting the first half of your life in a damn worse condition, you can still make it shines like a star (though the way will be longer). A long long way to go, still I am happy I am walking to it, slowly, slowly.. but reachable.. the law of large number is my friend, so never give up, keep trying!!

Actually..... I am quite happy with my current situation, out of my randomness gut-feeling choices :D Yeah... I am a typical Gemini, not in the extrovert way, but in the double, tripple or even poly face way.

Alternative Library

Haven't read dfdfReader'sDigest for ages since I left Hong Kong.
But I enjoy reading it because every time you read it, you feed your brain with some new ideas.
Like this one mentioned in its article : Footpath Library (http://www.footpathlibrary.org/about.html), which is opened in Sydney.

This "library" ,doesn't like others in a building, is set up on a street. People can freely borrow the book at the library at every Tuesday night. So that the homeless people can find some meaningful way to spend their time, and have a place to mingle with others people.

I recall a similar act in a foreign country. When people finish reading a book, they write their name on the first page of the book, then just left it on the public transport(bus, train, ferry etc..) . The books will then wait other passengers to "adopt" it , and write their name on it.
The whole idea is also written on the first few pages, so people can easily grab this idea and pass it on when they finish. There is even a website to let you trace the book that you left on train! (But as usual, I forget it )

Lots of ways to treat the old books/magazines, but I wonder how many of these methods really work in Hong Kong? People gonna re-sell that for profit, or the police will charge the people with "road blocking" or "Littering" and I doubt how many HK people will really read a book when they have time except PSP, NDS, Facebook or Online game (myself included lol) ......

By the way, anyone interested in reading my piles of TIMES and FORBES with 50cm tall??
Brand new (in plastic bags) , issued around Sep 2009.

Recognized

Today I finally can find my boss for a feedback session,
surprisely the feedback is out of my expectation , all of my team, supervisor and even client are giving me excellent to very excellent grading :) I am happy my boss can know how much effort that I put in the team, but still I need to be more active in updating my progress to my supervisor..

But still.... right now I am trading performance with my learning opportunties...
Hopefully I can take something useful out of it.

Anyway... It is strange that I can learn so much about China in India ;)

The role of Government?

I used to think that Business is the most effective way to do most of the thing, look at the US promoting "free-market", look at every economic textbook saying government control will create the "deadweight lost". I used to think it is just a theory, but today I experience how a business-oriented society can be a mishap.

I want to go to Spencer to buy my everyday food on my collegue's car,
the 3-minutes-walk carpark walking turn out to be 15 minutes as the nearest one is DAMX full,
the 10 minutes drive turns out to be 30 minutes due to FU_cking traffic jam.
Want to go back from Spencer? Ask your friend for help as there is no public transport between the longest Shopping Mall Road in Asia, MG Road, to the multi-national business Hub in India, DLF Phase 3.

WHY???
1. The financial return of Office is much better than a carpak, the rent of carpark is as attractive as a office leasing if the fee of parking is USD 10 per hour (compare to my poor salary which is around USD 300 per month....) And the leasing term of office is 1-2 years, while the term for car-park can be ranging from hourly to monthly.

2. The automotive company wants to increase their car sales, so ask the government to "control" the growth of public transport among Gurgaon so more people need the car. So trafiic jam is a consequence of a "stimulated" demand for car. And you have no choice to escape from the traffic jam as there is no subway in Gurgaon, urban-planning become a luxury in Gurgaon.

WHy can it happend to be the so-called "city of mall/ MNC" , where tons of shopping mall and Consultanting firm like Bien,Mckinsy and Technopak ( of course ;P) located, with poor organized infrastructure?
It's all about the overwhelming power of business in the abscent/insignificant of government monitor.

As business used to be financial oriented, government should be a goal-keeper of the citizen benefit, a montior of the passed law, and an advocate of long-term planning. But sadly, I see none, or insignificant amount in Gurgaon.

Look at the bright side, the government in Gurgaon can surely improve a lot in this few years if they are dedicated to put a few things on the balance except the gold bar, as it doesn't have much expectation from the citizen so it can do things out of expectation, it doesn't achieve much things so has lots of growth potential.

Some walks of life - special people that I met in my Journey

Last weekend, I went for Bhopal and cities around them for 3 days.

I met 1 monk,1 parliament officer, 7 Indians from varies cities, a big family group (which travel in more than 70 people...), and a group of Indian university students.

The monk traveled Sanchi stupas with me, thanks to a random meeting at the train station. It is surprised that the 50 year old monk can speak good English , as before he was a doctor. I didn't ask much about his past, but I know that he likes Buddhism very much. He come to Sanchi only to worship the sources, and the first propagation of Buddhism in India.

I also met a Parliaments office at Bhopal, she helped us a lot to call a taxi. It is not easy to arrange a taxi at there, especially you are a tourist which supposed to be "rich". She needed to shout, persuade and argue with the taxi driver. Though we didn't get a bargain, we have a nice trip to an ancient cave thanks to her.

I come across an Indian family, with a lovely girl which can speak some English and love to speak with forigner. It is hard to find such naive yet friendly girls in India. More than 70% kids that I come across is the begger in the street asking for "Sir...kanar...kanar..", which means asking for food literally, but in fact means money...
I don't like to give money to begger, but this time I just give this girl money even she didn't beg for it. I believe this Hong Kong money ,the first foreign currency that she saw in her life,
can bring some impact to her global view, to be more interested to the world and realize how much India can be improved and can be utitlized.

I saw the biggest travel group that I seen in my life. During travelling back to Delhi by train,
the more-than-70 groups is in fact belongs to same families with relatives. They are quite friendly and create a happy atmosphere when i back. I also come across with a group of helpful students from Delhi University, a nice chat help me understand more about Indian education system.

Everybody can see the same tourist attraction, but with a different & unique experience.
Thank to these people who had helped me and make my trip special, enjoyable and unforgettable.

What I learn most in India......

Yesterday started a random conversion with one of my Polish friend Barbara,
we shared lots of our views of India to the New U-59 comer Yasmina from Morocco, and what we learnt in India.I though India has trained up my negotiation skills (from rickshaw drive), cookery (from the rice-cooker), but the life-changing one for sure is : let-go attitude (together with crisis management)

I born in Hong Kong , and before I learnt how to organize things and make plans. In India, you can still organize you own things and make your own plan. But the external force from the amazing country will keep challenging your patience. To the national level India has the most delayed airport in the world #1, to the inter-state level you have trains which has 2 times: scheduled arrival and expected arrival time, to the private transport you have a rickshaw driver which always lost the ways, and at the end of the journey he will keep argue with you about the price, not to mention in business meeting someone can be late for 10 + minuters which is "normal", including those included senior meeting....

What can you do, when you detail plan being mess up with the delay of transport, the jam in traffic and late of meeting?
1. Take pictures in the environement.
2. Read Books
3. make another meeting.... and meeting :)

Let it go, Let it be.
For the life in India, for part of my past.....

Interesting Friend?

Working at company till 2100, but Carman Ho MSN me and ask me, if I find any intesting people in India.

Since I moved into U-59, my lovely home in Gurgaon, the poor organized business hub in Delhi, I met lots of interesting people in U-59 and in India : People who love beer so much that can live in desserts for the rest of one's life ,with the supply of beer, People who love girls so much that decided not to marry but always keep fu.cking girl for the rest of life, People who not keen on having family decide not to get marry and have baby, and people who value family so much that will go back to one's hometown when the family needed some help, no matter what happened in job (though in India it is commmon for married people to live with their parents), Everyone has different values, but we can be friend, that why I enjoy in U-59.

But still, like my friend mentioned to me before, friendship in U-59 is quite intense. You can develop life-long friend and experience most cycle of friendship within a short period of time: greeting, understanding, developing, seperating/stabilizing....

My friend which are not in India , how are you??

By the way, nice chat Ho Ka Man ;)

Galaxy Mall has a nice pub!

If I can choose between party and pub, I prefer the later one..

In party, you have chances to meet some cute girls, but dancing is not my cup of tea if dance with strangers.

But in the pub with nice beer , happy chat with my friends is the best way to spend a Saturday night, especially after OT on Saturday due to the shitting deadline on next week.

I love the sweet taste of the beer, every beer at here is made by itself, together with some soft rock is the best!

P.S This is the micro-brewery pub, with the theme of cricket !You can see how they served the tester of the pub, in the cool shapre of a bat!

My internship

I remembered in my secondary school there is a famous scientific term called Brownian Movement, where particles move randomly to hit each othere.

In fact, all of us know that not only particles, lots of things happen in life are random.

Today, I received a email ,as usual, about whether I am interested to take a project or not. I didn't expect much about this as I thought it would be another shitty task again, but still I stepped up and went to the meeting. The task turned out to be adding lots of favour to the CV, even I could not take it due to lack of , but I am happy I make a wise choice of paying effort to grab this chance and have no regret.

Although life is random, but randomness also have a range of movement, which is called mean.
I just certified that my "mean" in this internship, as sensed before, is occupied with brainless job.

But I will not give up!! I am waiting for the extrema (in a positve way) to come, that's what I can do.

A new start of 2009

It has been more than 1 years that I haven't written a blog. I used to write blog at ICQ when other doesn't do, and stop writting it when others start writting it. At the beginning of the year 2009 , it is a good time to start with.

Looking back in 2008, I have done lots of things
1. Start working for a part time which can add value to me CV : Saleperson in Hang Seng Bank and Game Coach in Balanced Intelligence , temp job at UST MBA & Global Source
2. Completed my 19 years of study and begin to be part of the working force.
3. Try to against all difficulties and push a new idea, it fails but accumulate experience for latter generation.
4. Experienced the taste of "double lost" (lost your career & your job) since graduate for 3 months.
5. Saw the China paralympic & visited Beijing & Taiwan.
6. Higher expecatation to lots of things around me, no matter at work or using my free time
7. Enjoying my life in India.

In 2009, I wish I can:
1. Every week in India go to the Gym at least once.
2. Better my prounication of English, improve my Vocab of Mandarin & conduct basic conversation in Spanish.
3. Care more about my friends & family, if chance come will pay full effort to love someone.
4. Utilize my internship time to hunt for a better job
5. Each month learn 3 new dishes in Chinese,Indian or western ;)

Lets see what my life will be after 1 year , how much i will achieve.
